With five grown children and 14 grandchildren, safety has always been a cornerstone of our family values. Nancy dedicated years to teaching parenting classes and, through The Treasure Kids—a kids' song and dance group—educated countless children about personal safety and drug prevention. Therin, a retired avionics systems engineer, ensured safety in the skies. Dustin, the heart of Arizona Childproofers, is a loving father, devoted husband, and skilled craftsman who deeply understands the challenges of keeping young children safe at home and around pools.
A Natural Transition
When Dustin had the chance to purchase Arizona Childproofers, Nancy knew it was the perfect fit for our family. Despite early hurdles, our mission has remained clear: helping families create safer homes and pools. Dustin brings over 23 years of pool fence installation and 20 years of childproofing experience.

Dustin Dastrup is Arizona’s only Certified Professional Childproofer and has been dedicated to making homes safer for families since 2005. With over two decades of hands-on experience, he specializes in installing high-quality in-home safety products, ensuring that homes are both secure and functional for growing families.
Beyond childproofing, Dustin is a highly skilled pool fence installer, having worked in the industry his entire career. His extensive knowledge of pool safety regulations, combined with precision installation techniques, has helped countless families protect their children from water-related hazards.
Dustin is also a Certified Car Seat Technician, trained to educate parents on proper car seat installation and usage to maximize child passenger safety. His expertise in home and vehicle safety makes him a trusted resource for parents looking to create a secure environment for their children.
With a strong background in home improvement and problem-solving, Dustin brings a practical, no-nonsense approach to safety—focusing on effective solutions rather than unnecessary extras. He understands that every home is unique and takes the time to customize safety measures that fit each family's needs.
When he’s not working, Dustin enjoys being a hands-on dad, traveling with his family in their RV, and spending time at the lake. Whether he's setting up camp, exploring new places, or just enjoying the outdoors, he values creating lasting memories with his wife and kids.
Nancy Dastrup
Nancy Dastrup, a proud mother of five and grandmother to fourteen, has a deep passion for working with parents. Over the years, she has taught parenting classes and led a performing group that presented musical programs focused on safety. One of her greatest joys is teaching safety classes to parents in hospitals, mom’s groups, schools, and churches. As a Certified Car Seat Technician, Nancy is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of children.
In her spare time, Nancy loves traveling with her husband and creating memorable experiences with her grandchildren. Her latest passion is crafting family history storybooks to preserve cherished memories for her loved ones.
Therin Dastrup
Therin Dastrup is a retired avionics systems engineer who made significant contributions to the development of air-ground communication links for commercial aircraft. Throughout his career, he collaborated with numerous airlines to customize applications for their operational communications. Married to Nancy since 1972, Therin cherishes the time he spends with their 14 grandchildren.
In addition to being a talented woodworker and a skilled handyman capable of fixing almost anything, Therin is also an Excel spreadsheet expert. His expertise plays a vital role in helping our company track and manage its finances effectively.
